The Cultural Exchange of Xiangyang Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk Going to the United States Has Come to A Successful Conclusion

On the afternoon of August 12th local time, the joint performance of Xiangyang Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk and North Carolina Triangle Symphony Orchestra has lifted the curtain. Opening with a piece of Sinkiang folk music “Maira”, the beautiful melody immediately brings the thinking of present ethic Chinese audience back to the native land thousands of miles away. North Carolina Triangle Symphony Orchestra is the largest and most capable youth orchestra in North Carolina. It performs “Jasmine Flower”, “Beautiful Night” and “Auld Lang Syne” together with Xiangyang Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk as conducted by the well-known local ethic Chinese Musician Zhu Zhongliang in Raleigh. The terrific cooperation has elicited enthusiastic applause from the audience. So far, the musical cultural exchange activity with the sister city Raleigh launched by the Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk of our city going to America has come to a successful conclusion.

After the show, the juvenile musicians of both cities take a group photo with representatives of the organization and partial honored guests from the audience.

At the invitation of Raleigh Sister City Association in America, the municipal Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk has performed a musical concert in North Carolina State University in the City of Raleigh and Sanford on August 10th to 12th local time. This is an exchange activity with juvenile musical culture as the theme launched by the two cities for the first time since we have signed the sister city partnership agreement with Raleigh in 2010.

This time the Philharmonic Orchestra Jungvolk going to America has been warmly received by the First Lady of North Carolina Christine Cooper, Mayor of Raleigh Nancy MacFarland, Wei Gaorong, leader of local ethic Chinese who facilitated the formation of sister cities between Raleigh and Xiangyang and chairman of CAECA, Confucius Institute and Raleigh Sister City Association. The First Lady encourages the little musicians and highly affirms the exchange between sister cities with music as the bond. The performance has been well received by local people, using music as the medium to convey the friendship to sister cities, enhancing the understanding and comradeship between people in the two places, particularly that among teenagers.
