The 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair Unveils

Two Major Agreements Fuel Xiangyang’s Tourism Industry

  At the Hubei Cultural Industry Promotion Meeting and Signing Ceremony, Xiangyang Futai Cultural Industry Co., Ltd. and HKCTS (Shenzhen) Tourism Management Co., Ltd. entered into agreement to co-develop Futai Qixi Town; and Shenzhen Tianlu Catering Management Co., Ltd. and Miaotan Town Government of Gucheng County partnered to promote red eco-tourism in Guoyu. The two projects draw a total of 2.5 billion yuan and will greatly energize the cultural tourism and ecotourism in Xiangyang.

  Xiangyang Futai Cultural Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred as “Futai”), settling in Fancheng District, operates in property development & management, jewellery and jade, mineral exploitation, building materials and home furnishing, and e-commerce. HKCTS (Shenzhen) Tourism Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred as “HKCTS”) has invested in and operated smoothly tourism projects in Ocean Spring Resort, Songshan Mountain, and Shapotou, and is now a veteran in brand, customer source, marketing, fund, and management.

  Futai Qixi Town is a key cultural tourism project in Hubei Province. The 2-billion yuan project will build Hanjiang Folk Customs Street, Cultural Museum, Bianhe Theatre, Entry Lux Shopping Center, and Lakeview Villas, delivering functions like featured cuisines, fashion & shopping, leisure & entertainment, family interaction, spring hotel, sports and fitness, antique and paintings, and jewellery and jade. Here will become a great stage to present Hanshui, Three Kingdoms, and Jing-Chu Cultures.

  Futai and HKCTS plan to level up their core competitiveness and build a new destination system in Qixi Town by leveraging HKCTS’s full service model, 3D service platform, and one-stop service platform in tourism planning and scheming, design, operation, and talent training. Together, both players will drive the transformation and upgrade of the tourism industry in Xiangyang.

  The Guoyu Red Ecotourism Project in Miaotan Town of Gucheng County occupies 500 mu and aggregates 500 million yuan of investment. Based on the relics of Hongxing Chemical Factory, the project will build a headquarters of red tourism and education, along with water rafting and cold-water fish culturing.

Three Featured Exhibits Highlight Xiangyang’s Charming Culture

  Xiangzhou Han Pottery, Laohekou Woodblock New Year Pictures, and Baokang Jingshan Jade...these unique Xiangyang elements immediately amaze the audiences in the Hubei Pavilion.

  A mix of top-quality pottery clay in Hanshui River basin and exquisite craftsmanship contributes to a more than 2000-year old Han pottery in Xiangyang. Every pottery product made by Cao Zongjin, a highly-skilled folk craftsman in Xiangyang, is eye-catching and valuable for historical research and appreciation.

  After more than a decade of concentrated efforts, Cao Zongjin has developed 29 pottery formulas by innovating ancient Han pottery processes he inherits. In 2006, Cao Zongjin founded Xiangyang Zongjin Han Pottery Craft Plant. Hand-made tea ware, sculpture and other Han pottery products are well received in Wuhan, Fujian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing. Critic marvel at their top quality and distinctive features for “permeability compared to Yixing teapot, and firmness similar to Ru porcelain in Song Dynasty”.

  Laohekou Woodblock New Year Pictures, a variety of China’s long-lasting folk woodblock prints, sources from Taohuawu, the “Southern School” cradle of this traditional art via Zhuxian Town in Henan. Today, Chen Yiwen has brought this Laohekou speciality to the attention of more and more people.

  Born in a woodblock New Year pictures family, Chen Yiwen is reputed the successor of “Southern School”. Pictures he creates features inkline as the bones and a focus on sharp carve for modelling. With 20+ themes, his products are deeply soaked in the original folk customs.

  In 2007, Laohekou Woodblock New Year Pictures are included in the intangible cultural heritage list of Hubei and then the expansion list of national intangible cultural heritages in 2010, and finally protected as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2012. “Jingshan Jade is a perfect combination of natural metallic mineral and jade, valuable in terms of both culture and marketing. A promising prospect awaits as Baokang quickly improves its transportation.” said a literature and history expert of Baokang County at the 13th ICIF.

Cooperative Development Starts with Ten Investment Projects

  At the Hubei Cultural Industry Promotion Meeting and Signing Ceremony, Xiangyang has brought ten major projects for cultural investment promotion, the most among all cities in Hubei. These projects are also in the ICIF Hubei Investment Project Booklet 2017. Joining hands with elites nationwide and worldwide, Xiangyang manifests its determination for win-win cooperation at the global platform for cultural industry exchange.

  Ode to Han, a permanent play at Han City Guangwu Theatre in Zaoyang, is the first to be unveiled to investors at the investment promotion meeting. Drawing from the development history and myth & legends of Han people, the 50-minute play offers a dancing-singing-acrobatics feast aided by advanced lighting and acoustic technologies. The project is co-launched by Hubei Dahan Culture Industry Investment Co., Ltd. and Sun Media Group at the Guangwu Theatre in Han City.

  Investors are also interests in projects like Diaolongbei Relic Protection, Longzhong Culture Park, Guyin Temple Buddhist Culture Complex, Kuaihuo Valley of Jutan Mountain Villa, Xiangyang Cultural Products Distribution Center, and Matouzhai Tourism Development.

  Xiangyang needs to make the best of ICIF in Shenzhen to tell “Xiangyang Stories” and make “Xiangyang Voice” be heard. By intensifying efforts in attracting investment in cultural industries, Xiangyang will build the culture industry one of its pillars, said one cadre from the Propaganda Department. Many entrepreneurs present are exciting and show interest to visit Xiangyang and further learn the development ideas and policies of culture industry in Xiangyang. They desire to identify development opportunities for win-win results.
