Main exchanges with Xiangyang
On September 12, 2007, the then Deputy Party Secretary Wan Taoyuan of Xiangyang City and the then Mayor Dietmar Vettermann of Zwickau had talks and exchanged opinions on cooperation in key fields such as auto parts, economy and trade, chemical engineering, textile and education.
Introduction to Zwickau
Zwickau is located in mid-east Germany on the upstream of Zwickauer Mulde, more than 30km northeast of Chemnitz, with a population of about 107,000. It is the hometown of the famous composer Robert Schumann.
Founded in 1212, it is a railway terminal and the center of the coal production area. Industries there mainly include mechanical manufacturing (automobiles and tractors), chemistry and textile, as well as dye and papermaking sectors.
